Hoodia Gordonii is an all natural plant that is native to South Africa. It has been used for many years by the native San Bushmen who would consume it as a food and appetite suppressant when hunting for long periods of time.
Hoodia is not a stimulant, but rather, it fools the brain into thinking the body is full, showing the same effect on the nerve cells in the hypothalamus, as glucose. Some also believe it may contain aphrodisiac qualities.
Used in conjunction with a calorie reduced diet and exercise, it is believed to have an added benefit for dieters. To date, there have been no serious or harmful side effects associated with the use of Hoodia.
